 टूरिस्ट और बिजनेसमैन को आकर्षित करने के लिए 80 करोड़ की लागत से बनाया गया राजस्थान के जैसलमेर का एयरपोर्ट 3 सालों से ताले में बंद है। अब तक यहां से एक भी फ्लाइट नहीं उड़ी है। हाल ही जैसलमेर विजिट पर आए सिविल एविएशन मिनिस्टर महेश शर्मा ने कहा था कि जल्द ही यहां से फ्लाइट शुरू की जाएगी, लेकिन अभी भी यहां के लोगों को इसका इंतजार है। लोग कहते हैं घोस्ट एयरपोर्ट...

- जैसलमेर के खुहड़ी रोड पर स्थित सिविल एयरपोर्ट के गेट पर दो होमगार्ड तैनात रहते हैं, लेकिन भीतर सन्नाटा पसरा रहता है।
- इस एयरपोर्ट को बनाने का काम 2011 में शुरू हुआ था, जो 2013 में बनकर तैयार हुआ था।
- एयरपोर्ट की सुरक्षा पिछले 4-5 साल से होमगार्ड के भरोसे ही है। चार होमगार्ड तीन शिफ्ट में यहां ड्यूटी देते हैं।
- इसके अलावा तीन सफाई कर्मचारी दिनभर साफ सफाई करने में और पौधों को पानी देने में लगे रहते हैं।
- यहां एक असिस्टेंट जनरल मैनेजर व मैनेजर नियुक्त है। वे भी रोज आकर ऑफिस में बैठने का काम करते हैं।
- एयरपोर्ट पर तैनात गार्ड बताते हैं कि यहां दिन भर में कोई नहीं आता है। पास ही स्थित वायुसेना परिसर से रोजाना दर्जनों लड़ाकू विमान उड़ते हैं जिन्हें हम देखते रहते हैं।

थार डेजर्ट का हिस्सा है जैसलमेर

- जैसलमेर राजस्थान के सबसे खूबसूरत शहरों में से एक है और टूरिज्म का सबसे आकर्षक स्थल भी है।
- जैसलमेर के आसपास का इलाका लगभग पूरी तरह से रेतीला है और यह थार मरुस्थल का एक हिस्सा है।
